In this half-day workshop, you will learn how to create an Excel workbook, modify and format worksheets and use formulas.

Business Writing Strategies

Course Description:

This 42 hours (eight-day) course is an elective course in the Municipal Management Program. The course focuses on effective and practical writing skills are important for successful communication in business. Students develop practical writing skills using basic word processing technology.

Course Topics:

Students will learn how to compose business correspondence including emails, memoranda, letters, and reports, with a focus on routine and persuasive messages. A review of basic grammar is also included.

Microsoft Outlook Level 1

Course Description:

In this half-day workshop, you will explore the Outlook environment including email messages, managing your messages, and managing tasks.

  • Understanding the Outlook environment: getting started and working in Outlook
  • Communicating with e-mail messages: send, reply, forward and delete messages, use BCC, using categories
